1. I use a stylus, and, when necessary a straight crease on the line. Have
the stylus handy to your display hand so you don't have to move the camera
hand. Find where you need to sign. If on a line, position the line under
the first joint of the finger on the display. Move camera to the beginning
of the line, then move camera back in about a quarter inch. This is so you
can make a mark with your stylus as close to the beginning of the line as
possible. Conversely, once you find the beginning of the line, you make
your tactile mark with the stylus, but when ready to sign, move in about a
quarter inch to do so, where the line should actually start.
2. Hold the camera firmly in place. Use the stylus to find the little
indent on the side of the camera and press down to make a dot or a
depression you can feel on the other side of the paper. There will be about
a quarter inch from where you make your mark to what your camera actually
sees.
3. If your signature needs to be mid-page, you can crease the paper
horizontally where you have made your depression to mark the line. Make
sure edges of the paper are even so your line is not crooked. If you need
to, you can punch the stylus up from the backside of the paper so your
beginning line mark is more discernable. If you are close enough to a
bottom edge, you can use that as your guide for signing straight.
I use this method all the time at work, and sign so many papers that I use a
signature stamp and have learned how to align it correctly. I double-check
myself from time to time, and the signatures are spot on. Practice makes
perfect.
The hole process takes from 5 to 10 seconds, and was a lot longer to
describe than to do.
