[optacon-l] Reading lcd displays

I am contemplating purchasing a new lcd monitor. The one I have now is over
9 years old and is beginning to fade.
While looking at different monitors, I see that some ads say they are back
lit and others say they are not back lit.
Has anyone had any experience reading the 2 types with an Optacon, and if
so, which type is easier to read?
