I can't even stream 3 HD movies simultaneously in my house due to bandwidth limitations with my ISP. Imagine what would happen if there were no OTA or MVPD services and everybody tried to stream the Superbowl simultaneously.

Without a national internet system that supports multicasting, MVPD and/or OTA will always trump internet streaming for live events.

"Television" versus the Internet (related to Aereo etc.):

Although this article is 5 years old, it raises
interesting questions.

What's likely to happen when large numbers of people
try to watch real time HDTV (or maybe 3D 4K/UHDTV)
via the Internet?
