Craig, you really don't know when to quit arguing, do you?
First of all, 600 MHz LTE *is not* point to point microwave. More
importantly, I'm the one that told you that point to point microwave was an
option for backhaul, and you argued against that too! Un-freaking-believable.
You did not say anything about microwave being an option for backhaul in this
thread, or any other I can recall. And yes, LTE is not microwave.
But I went on to say that in rural areas, they probably do not need all of the
available spectrum for local LTE users - remember the stuff from Wiki, that 31
MHz of spectrum could support more than 1000 data users? Remember my saying
that they could use some of spectrum for point-to-point links to local 5G/LTE
nodes?
I didn't call it a 5G service; T-Mobile said they were going to
use it as the backbone for a 5G service.
They said "foundation," Craig. So, LTE and 600 MHz (look again at the title,
please) are neither the 5G service, nor are they the microwave links you have
now, belatedly, discovered.
Foundation, backhaul, call it whatever you want. This spectrum will provide LTE
service in rural areas AND tie with future 5G deployments.
That's all either of us know for sure.
Regards
Craig
