Only 5% are Internet only today. Craig still doesn't get it. First of all, only 5 percent are **exclusively** Internet for TV. The percentage of people watching TV online is huge, by comparison. Big difference, Craig. This says that streaming **to actual TV sets** grew from 12 percent of households in 2013 to 20 percent in 2014. And that's just to TV sets, Craig, and only from those deliberately crippled devices like AppleTV and Roku. Not to all those PCs, tablets, and smartphones. http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/239030/digital-players-grab-20-of-tv-households.html This says that 25 percent of US households will be streaming TV in 2015, from the same sort of limited-use boxes: https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/more-25-u-households-streaming-140000525.html Also, don't worry about what everyone else does. The ISPs worry about what everyone else does, Craig. If you go to TV online starting this minute, you won't have a problem. If you and your neighbor do this today, the ISPs will have that much more incentive to hurry up with deploying their edge servers. There are still going to be plenty of luddites who will drag their feet, reducing the need for a sudden switchover. How idiotic would it have been if I had decided, back in 2006-2007 or so, to NOT stream any TV, because "if everyone suddenly did that, the Internet might choke?" >> So, what exactly do these content owners demand? That's why duplicating the same old MVPD model online is such a loser, Craig. You DO NOT see the congloms making any of your supposed "demands" on any of the non-MVPD OTT sites, right? As I have been repeating, it is the monopolistic MVPD model that allows the congloms to behave as you claim they are behaving, and *only* on that MVPD medium. And it is loyal subscribers, such as yourself, who are perpetuating that conglom behavior, even as you hype up the wonders of TVE. > What will it cost? With infinitely more competition among OTT portals, certainly infinite compared with the single choice you have now, Craig, would you generally expect lower or higher prices, for what you really want to watch? Would you generally expect more or less flexibility in deciding just what you want "bundled"? Or do you really think that this is a trick question?
