This is NOT about technology. It IS about MUST CARRY, and protecting the cash cow that broadcasters now enjoy. We both know that the broadcasters could get virtually ANYTHING they want if they went public and used their considerable clout to get the public to put pressure on Congress. The reason they are not doing this should be obvious - they do not want to compete. They want to preserve the power they now enjoy, even if it means wasting some power on those Trojan Horse DTV transmitters. Regards Craig P.S. It is worth noting that NOT all broadcasters feel this way, but those who dare stick their necks out have had them chopped off - remember what happened to Sinclair? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
