It sounds to me like a family of DVD/hard drive PVRs with software optimized for use with the Freeview EPG structure to provide TiVo functionality without a TiVo subscription.

I don't understand this story. Isn't this simply an OTA DVDR or PVR, with a Freeview+ decal on it?
The device's recording features include series record, one touch record, and a pause feature for live TV.
