And, once again "you raise the bar high for that which you oppose and keep it low for that which you favor." The "slavery" of which you think being a Republican thing is actually the fact that due to a democrat-sponsored bill, signed by President Bush, there are no minimum wage provisions for Saipan and other Northern Mariana Islands. My feeling is that if we have a federal minimum wage, it should apply to all the lands of the United States. I also suspect that you have very little knowledge of the industries in Saipan, etc. I once dated a gal who worked there in the early 1980's as a seamstress. She made one hell of a lot of money, but didn't like living at the company store, and she got hooked on speed or crystal meth or something like that. She sure did sew fast, but we operated on different time scales ... That's "miles away" from slavery, since slavery means "involuntary servitude" not "wages and conditions below what Bob Miller thinks is appropriate." Let me see. I won't address chili, since you can't spell it, and probably believe that the beans should be cooked in the same pot and at the same time as the other ingredients. I do like chiles, I even eat whole Jalapenos raw. So, let me try a simple one. There is no minimum wage in Britan. Is that a country where all the workers are slaves? Did you know that the starting wage is higher in Britan than in the United States? Minimum wages actually cut employment, and discourage the hiring of less skilled individuals. They're a sop to labor unions, and they tend to lower the incomes of heads of households. All orthogonal to disclosed Democrat ideals. Speaking of appropriate, in your "years" in this "field" have you ever built anything? Ever erected a tower? Ever provided even a second of a service to anyone? Ever bought a transmitter? Heck, ever bought ANYTHING except rights to build facilities? From what I can tell, the answer to all of these questions is no. I am well aware they are part of the US. And yes I am sure we do have slavery within two miles of where I live but not the official Republican sanction type they have in the North Mariana Islands. Ours is more clandestined and individual in nature. And I do like chile.
