I covered this very many times already. The FCC only needs to work *this*
problem, which presumably is working itself out anyway.
The FCC seems completely ready to not impose any new standards or any
solutions. If the MVPDs (and content owners) indicate to the FCC that the plan
is for all MVPD content to be made available as TVE, I will bet you a truckload
of money that the FCC would be satisfied.
The FCC's knee-jerk initial "design approach" was to go back to the technical
realities of multiple decades ago. And the point I've restated, too many times
already, is that we aren't where we were 40 or even 20 years ago. New options
are in place now that make that knee-jerk, luddite, cumbersome approach
unnecessary.
