Get it, Craig? You know how you said that these third party coxes would never
be possible, because 20 years ago the MVPDs didn't buy in? So tell me this.
What can the MVPDs do to block progress now? Eliminate TVE, perhaps? Or block
all web browsers, perhaps? But these would be unlikely moves, because their
customers would get pissed.
Clearly the technologies that are being used to access OTT streams
could also access MVPD streams, IF the MVPD streams used the same IP
based standards..
What does TVE use, Craig? I'm saying, the ONLY thing the FCC might consider
doing is to encourage expansion of TVE, to include all of the MVPD tiers and
bundles. Then all that supposedly difficult task of agreeing on standards
vanishes. Internet TV has already established those standards, and TVE already
complies.
