Hey all, Here are only a few of the ideas that were shared at tonight's meeting. From Ricardo: During English Week, have students act out goals of class such as "What is trust?". During English week students did a lot of acting out of what the goals of the class is. Word walls...seeing all the words from the classes is really helpful From Ashley: Like Poncho comancho... put vocabulary on post-its. Kids have to say their post-it and then the vocabulary of another student. That student then has to say their vocab and another students. Meanwhile everyone is acting out all the words. Kids really learn the vocab. Listening to music. Everyone starts dancing. Ask students to copy the dancing of other students Assessment: Video diary for assessment. Ashley using bloggie. Ricardo is using his iPhone From Ruthie: Atchi Patchi. Like who is in the middle. Students sitting in circle. One student is standing in the middle. Everyone closes their eyes as student is in the middle thinking up a question to ask the group. While they are closing eyes touch one student on the shoulder. This person is the Atchi Patchi. Then ask everyone to open their eyes. Student in the middle (not knowing who is the Atchi Patchi begins asking everyone the same question. When the student who is the Atchi Patchi is asked the question, they respond, "Atchi Patchi". At this moment everyone stands up and moves to a different spot in the circle. The student who remains standing is the question asker. Again, everyone closes their eyes. The teacher selects the Atchi Patchi and the questions start again. Students are really getting into Manos de Jazz. They keep coming up with new ones. Manos de Jazz, Manos de Mago, Manos de Cangrejo, Manos de Sr. Cangrego, Manos de pulpo, etc. Students are really enjoying the "que prefieres" polling. Prefieres vivir en la luna o en un Castillo en Europa. Prefieres montar moto o navegar un barco, etc. From Stella: Quien esta en el centro...what colors students are wearing, etc. Cuadernos...stel...drawing pictures to cover the vocabulary Taking kids outside to talk about colors.
