Hi, here are my points as follows. I personally like both platforms equally and know both have their strengths and weaknesses like anything else. First the iPhone. Yes apple has set the accessibility bar for everyone and has a very stable platform bugs aside. Yes iOS 7 does have its bugs right now, but if we think at the wide open side of things every platform has bugs. You can go out and buy a bran new samsung device LG device, HTC device and so on and they may have a few bugs initially and with time all this gets fixed. iOS has at this point and time the best braille support if this were something a family member or friend really carried for I believe android isn't quite there with this and additionally the support is built straight on to the device itself as for android you need to get a separate app. I can see where this is a benefit for android to have it separate, but sometimes it isn't good. Android over all is a great platform and is getting better and better with every update, but lots of people who come from an iPhone will expect everything to function the same, and this isn't the case. There are many differences and that is something a person will have to study for themselves. i Persoanally like I said won't put one above the other because I personally like them both, and well the best way to determine if a device is for you is going out and playing with it. Yes android is much cheeper and many of us pick it just for that, and this may be a big factor depending on the person you are talking to and making the suggestion too.
