Laurie mentioned the NCES codes avail at the link she provided.

While on a semi-related topic, I figured I might ask if people have a
definitive source for high school CEEB codes?

We have decided on using the DAPIP<https://ope.ed.gov/dapip/#/home> database as
our definitive source for some of our higher ed institution data (such as
FICE/OPE IDs, names, alternate locations addresses and other data), since it
seems very inclusive, up-to-date and reliable to us. But..I still don’t know a
reliable, definitive source for high school CEEB codes across the state or
country.

FICE (for higher-ed) and CEEB (for high schools) are the values that were set
up 100 years ago in our institution records and so these are what we use for
import identifiers, and these  CEEB codes are what use to translate into NCES
codes for state extracts. While we can make our internal CEEB to NCES matching
work, we have had a heck of a time ensuring the CEEBS on our hs records are
actually accurate and up to date w/out a reliable source.

Maybe nobody else uses CEEB codes?

  1.  Institution Look up for ODE (https://www.ode.state.or.us/instID/). If you
click the download icon, this gives you an amazing amount of basic district to
school relationship data (like tracking which schools are in which districts
and their Institutional ID’s)

  1.  This is also helpful in accessing EdFacts data (think IPEDS for K-12).
The NCES School ID we report to D4A is the National school code for the K-12
school, linked to EdFacts.

Hello everyone!

We are looking to develop an organized process around gathering and managing
the K-12 data we need for grants, program evaluation, and understanding our
feeder schools.

Previous processes have generally been last-minute, frantic scrambles for grant
applications – with recent help from PCC’s grant office (thank you!). Data
we’re interested in includes things like: eligibility rates for free/reduced
lunch, dropout rates, graduation rates, chronic absenteeism / attendance, etc.

Does anyone have a managed process for acquiring K-12 data through ODE or their
local ESD perhaps? I’d love to know what that looks like.
