21 of us had a super weekend in Ashland.



Highlights:

Thursday evening: half an hour watching a GREAT GRAY OWL hunt in a meadow!
Big Thanks to local birder Lee French!



Friday: We re-found the Great Gray Owl briefly

Hyatt Lk : White Pelicans, Osprey

W. Bluebirds

Emigrant Lk: Great Egrets, OAK TITMOUSE



Saturday:

Agate Lk: Western Grebe, many LEWIS' WOODPECKERS

Denman Wildlife area on Gregory Rd: in view at one time

Turkey Vulture

Northern Harrier

Red-tailed Hawk

Cooper's Hawk

WHITE-TAILED KITE - Wow!

Gregory Rd: family of four MOCKINGBIRDS

Whetstone Savannah: after some tramping in the heat: 2
CALIFORNIA TOWHEES

Lower Table Rock: after a walk on the loop trail: 2
CALIFORNIA TOWHEES in the parking lot



Sunday:

Emigrant Lake county park: daggetti race of Red-breasted
Sapsucker

Nest box near Lithia Park: W Screech Owl

Ashland Pond: Green Heron, Black Phoebe

North Mountain Park: salmon swimming up Bear Creek



Everywhere: Acorn Woodpeckers
