Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Taghrid and I had a nice encounter with a white-throated sparrow at Wireless Rd
in Astoria today, at the same spot where others have reported the clay-colored
sparrow (Cyclone fence, across from the feeders). No luck with the common
ground dove or the clay-colored sparrow at that location today.

Additionally, we also saw a Cooper’s hawk (adult), female belted kingfisher,
common and hooded mergansers (male and female of each species), Tundra swans,
wigeons, mallards and buffleheads at Trojan Park on Hwy 30. The day’s tally 8
for bald eagles, and 7 for red-tailed hawks. A cooperative dozen or so
sanderlings at the South Jetty in Ft. Stevens State Park, and many thousands of
dunlins at the beach off of Lot D, also at Ft. Stevens.

Some photos (especially of the white-throated sparrow, for those who would like
to confirm the sighting, which I also submitted to e-bird) in the album linked
below.
