Great find, Jen. We’re going to check it out tomorrow morning. We didn’t get
out the Jetty that far today, but we did see a Short-eared Owl flying over the
deflation plain at dusk.
We actually had five Short-eared Owls today, the first two pairs were in the
Tangent area -- 2 flying near Seward/Country Rd and 2 on the ground west of
Davis Rd.

Hi all,
There is a Burrowing Owl flying around the South Jetty of the Siuslaw River in
Florence. It's currently in some grass right by a big block of styrofoam-type
material, where several surfers are parked. This is about halfway between the
main parking area and the rocks that block cars from driving up the jetty.
When we first saw it it was right next to a parked car in the sand.
Will upload photos to my Flickr when I get home tonight.
Good birding!!!
