There was a mix of weather and a mix of birds to go with. First stop was Lost
Creek Lake where I saw 41 HORNED LARKS. The largest flock I've previously seen
in Jackson County was 8, but I haven't been here as long as some. There were
also about 35 TREE SWALLOWS catching insects over the water.
There was an immature FERRUGINOUS HAWK out in Sam's Valley at a reliable spot.
At a barn near the parking area for Lower Table Rock trail, there were 25
TUNDRA SWANS, again the largest flock that I've seen in the valley.
Good birding,Medford Russ
