Thanks to Tim Blount and others for the information.
On the human level, do we have news from the Malheur National Wildlife
Refuge staff who have been so helpful to many birders for so many years?
Frankly it just seems silly to proclaim that "OBOL is not about
politics" when what amounts to an armed insurrection has taken over the
state's top birding site, and may be endangering the safety of the same
federal employees who have helped us so many times as birders.
At some point passive non-engagement becomes complicity. I suggest that
we've reached, and gone past that point with this incident.
