I forwarded the pictures to raptor expert Brian Sullivan and he concurs that
the bird is a Light-phase Harlanâs Hawk. Here is what he had to say:
âLooks perfect for a juvenile light Harlan's! Those really strongly barred
outer primary tips are a good field mark, as is the whitish head and spangled
upperparts.â
