Hi all,
I visited William Finley Refuge this morning. Numerous American Pipits and
Killdeer enjoyed the mud left from pipe installation in a field, north of
Finley Rd.
Prairie Overlook offered a full plate of raptors: 1 Bald Eagle, 3
Red-Tailed, 1 Red-Shouldered, 1 Rough-legged Hawk, 2 Northern Harrier, 2
White-tailed Kites, American Kestrel.
Cabell Marsh was packed with easily 1000 ducks - Mallards, Pintails,
Green-winged Teal, American Wigeon, (1) female Ring-necked Duck. Also, my
first swans of this season - 18 Tundra Swans. 16 Dunlin, 6 LB Dowitchers,
and 1 Greater Yellowlegs (heard only, no doubt more out there) also seen.
Happy birding,
Pam Otley
