Saturday, 11/21 Clay Crofton and I ran the ECAS Bend - Alfalfa Raptor Survey
under p. cloourdy skies, calm winds and temps between 28 - 45 degrees F. It
turned out to have the 2nd highest count, 125, for the survey's history of 11+
years. The highlight besides seeing lots of red-tails and Am. Kestrels was
Clay spotting an immature Red-shouldered Hawk. Last year one was spotted for
two months in Alfalfa. this Red-shoulder was seen on a power line in front of
a house at 22260 E. Nelson Rd east of the Bend Airport. The location was 1/2
mile east of the Jct of Nelson and Gibson Air Rd.
