I also wandered Clatsop County today.
My hunt for rare sparrows fell flat at the airport trail. But I did see an
Owen and Jeff and some sort of small dog on my way back to car.
My visit to the Parking Lot C burn area and all the hidden small bogs in
the area was quiet but for a flock of crossbills.
The river beach had no rare gulls but a few thousand Dunlin were sleeping
on the beach, a good number of Semipalmated Plover were carefully hidden in
the flock.
My walk out the Seaside cove rock beach was harder after all the storms
but I had good numbers of Black Turnstones and Surfbirds, no Rock Sandpiper.
Best part was my visit to the wintering Snow Buntings on the Sunset Beach:
