I checked my old records and see that I had seen a Black-throated Blue
Warbler in SE Portland on January 11, 2005, and then again on February 19,
2005. This was in a yard well stocked with feeders. I don't know the
exact arrival date but it obviously stayed for an extended period of time.
The bird reported today seems to have arrived on a similar date, and is
also in someone's yard that apparently is well kept with feeders. This
history is encouraging for those who are waiting for better road conditions
before trying to see it.
