The 4th South Grants Pass raptor survey was accomplished today (03-19-15)

Distance traveled: 26.8 miles; Survey time: 2.5 hours

Bald Eagle - 1 (Adults)
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
White-tailed Kite - 1

Numbers of most species lower then previous count. However, some interesting
finds, a Kite was seen perched at the top of a conifer tree a good distance
from any fields (perhaps a nesting location). The Harrier still around. Two
Osprey; a Golden Eagle soaring high over Riverbanks Road area. One small
"kettle" of 7 Turkey Vultures along Fish Hatchery Rd. Two Northern
Rough-winged Swallows along the Applegate River (Fish Hatchery bridge), plus 2
pair of Hooded Mergansers.
