At the City of Salem, we have just received the following cell phone
policy back from the State Ethics Board, which provides three options (a
4th being you carry your own phone with no City involvement or
reimbursement). We are just preparing to implement this policy. If you

Lane County currently provides employeesa stipend of $30/month if an
employee uses their personal cell phone for County business rather than
the County providing them aphone. We are exploring businessuse of PDA’s
so are contemplating whetherthe Countyshouldestablishahigherstipendto
PDA-usersto coversomepercentageof thehigher cost voiceplusdata plans.
Are any of you providing employees stipends that includedata for
personally-owned PDA’s? If so, what is your organization’s monthly
stipendamountto the employee?
