[nvda-addons] Re: Request for comments: Audio theming add-ons: best course of action on moving forward

I honestly see no issue with other people who want to use one add-on over another. I.E. there's nothing wrong with having multiple forked versions of an add-on. Audio themes can be added to the community simply because the author submitted it for review and it was well written, thanks can be given to the authors who contributed, and if the authors of other theming add-ons would like, we can include them (If they pass review). It would be cool to see a collaboration to make a super themes add-on or something.

while saying about prefering something, you should argument that.
i'm sure you didn't try the latest audiothemes addon.
basically, it repeats unspoken's functionality

I prefer Unspoken.

I use the unspoken addon,   it works very well. I did try the obj

Hi, I tested two version of objSounds and audioTemes, years ago.
Based
just on these test, my general impression is that I would choose
objSounds, the version of Evans or something like that, if we
should to
choose just one.
Though I think that add-ons can be merged.
The audiotemes that I tested had a non standard way to manage
temes, or
this is the impresion saved on my memory, years ago.
But this must be investigated, of course.
Thanks.

Dear NVDA add-ons community,

After talking to authors of various audio theming add-ons on
twitter
and
IRC, I think it could be a good idea to come up with some kind of a
compromise and choosing the add-on that users, developers and
others
inside and outside this community believe to be a compromise
solution.
So far, we have:

·         Unspoken: Austin Hicks.

·         ObjSounds (from someone)

·         An add-on from Bryan Smart.

·         Audio Themes 3D by Musharraf Omer.

Does anyone have comments on what the community should do?

To Musharraf: Please feel free to continue developing the add-on.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Joseph
