I don't think JP uses SmoothWall any more. Is this something Paul (our onl= y=20 remaining Smoothie?) may be able to help with? =46rom my rapidly-fading memory of SmoothWall, I believe the modem/router s= hould=20 be set up first, using a single PC connected to it. Get it all working usi= ng=20 the browser admin tool. Only then plug in the SmoothWall box, which should= =20 be told to use a regular Ethernet port for its Red interface, giving it the= =20 IP address of the router. Only one of them (preferably Smoothie, I'd say)= =20 should be set to hand out DHCP addresses. =2D- GT (not a 'real' expert) On Tuesday 18 May 2004 11:43, David Farthing wrote: (snip) > I was wondering if you could let me have the settings > you have used in the d-link, and in smoothwall, > I can not get mine to talk to each other. > > Is the d-link set up as a bridge? > how is smoothwall red interface set up? > > any pointers would be appreciated! _______________________________________________ To post to this list, send email to npcug@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, send email to npcug-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the Subject field.
