They are frequently spotted at Sligo and Rock Creek Parks. We’re not too far from Sligo as the turkey flies.

Wondering how the turkey found its way to your yard, and presuming it must have walked, I googled it and learned that they can not only fly, but can fly as fast as 55mph for short distances.
