They are preserving the building, but evicting Rhizome. The group is looking
for affordable space in the area. We’re losing a valuable arts org because of
the development, unfortunately. I’d be more impressed if they’d agreed to
renovate the house and offered Rhizome the space as an extension of their
contract. It seems they want to give the building to the TP Historical Society
and leave it to TP to restore it.
If anyone knows of space that Rhizome might rent — they’re looking for at least
1500 sq ft so they can continue their performances and installations.
