We also used Mid-Atlantic and added 2 French drains in our basement and they
updated our sump pump to a much heartier version. Additionally, we built a
French drain/landscape element in our backyard that we did mostly ourselves,
with the help of a local landscaper. We’ve had significantly less issues with
water — only 1 small incident of stormwater in our laundry room after the most
extreme rain in Sept.

We fought this battle for a long time before biting the bullet and getting a
French drain. Mid-Atlantic did our work and we were very satisfied with both
the work and results. We had an early leak but they came out quickly and
extended the French drain for free. We haven't had a leak since. I thought
the system was a bit of overkill but now I'm glad with all the heavy rain.

We used Carlos Herrera at (703) 675-8051 for a basement project (he is more
of a general contractor) and he ended up guiding us towards a good bit of
water mitigation, both inside and outside. It cost us more than the planned
project, but in the end, we’ve not had a drop of water in 3 years. French
drains inside and also outside to divert rain water. Specia Plastic sheeting
along the walls to divert any leakage from cracks down into the French drain.
Double sump pumps for different levels of the basement, etc.

Hi Neighbors
My perennial question – any recommended contractors for wet basements—either
interior or exterior solutions including waterproofing, sumps, French drains
etc. We keep pouring money into this without much success. Frustrating for a
guy who got an A in water resources engineering in grad school! Not Archer or
Kathleen Litchfield. Anyone used JES for waterproofing?
Thanks
Paul
