Nutrition International (NI) formerlyknown as the Micronutrient Initiative
(MI), a renowned InternationalDevelopment organization based out in Ottawa,
Canada, has a commitment toeradicate global ‘hidden hunger’ by implementing
interventions that focus onwomen and children in developing countries.
NI has collaboratedwith the Ministry of Health (MoH) in supporting the Vitamin
A Supplementation(VAS) program in Indonesia since 2006. Since 2010, NI has been
supporting 12low-performing districts[1] in six identified high mortality
provinces. Theprogram was focused on supply chain management, capacity building
of the healthmanagers and workers on standardization of target population
estimations,micro-planning, needs assessment, monitoring, and supervision and
supply chainmanagement.
Since April 2013 toSeptember 2016, NI scaled up its technical and financial
support on VAS programin 6 selected provinces. Then from October 2016 to March
2019, NI hasscaled up the support to national level. Further, from April 2019
to March2024, NI will continue its support on VAS program at national level
tostrengthen government commitment on the VAS program; Support MoH toimprove
implementation of the VAS supply chain management and better monitorthe QA VACs
and to support MoH to review the implementation of electronicrecording and
reporting integrated nutrition system (E- PPGBM)to identify any gaps with the
intention of then supporting MoH toimprove the quality of data used to manage
the VAS program.
NIis looking for Agency/ Consultant/s to conduct “A Data Quality Audit ofthe
Vitamin A Supplementation and assessment of the functionality of theMonitoring
and Evaluation system in Indonesia”.
The data quality auditis proposed to be done prior to (census), during and
following up to two-threemonths of the February 2020 vitamin A supplementation
1st round,once the data is rolled up to the national level from the Posyandu.
On anaverage, the Posyandu reports to Puskesmas one month after distribution
atposyandu and sweeping or by March/April for the 1st round andSeptember or
October for the 2nd round in August). It mighttake some time for the data to be
rolled up from the Puskesmas to the districtand to the Province to be finally
compiled at the national level. Therefore,this activity is proposed to be
conducted from January to September 2020.
