Nutrition International (NI)formerly known as the Micronutrient Initiative
(MI), a renowned InternationalDevelopment organization based out in Ottawa,
Canada, has a commitment toeradicate global ‘hidden hunger’ by implementing
interventions that focus onwomen and children in developing countries.
NI has collaborated with theMinistry of Health (MoH) in supporting the Vitamin
A Supplementation (VAS)program in Indonesia since 2006. Since 2010, NI has been
supporting 12low-performing districts[1]in six identified high mortality
provinces. The program was focused on supplychain management, capacity building
of the health managers and workers onstandardization of target population
estimations, micro-planning, needsassessment, monitoring, and supervision and
supply chain management.
Since April 2013 to September 2016, NIscaled up its technical and financial
support on VAS program in 6 selectedprovinces.Then from October 2016 to March
2019, NI has scaled up the support tonational level. Further, from April 2019
to March 2024, NI willcontinue its support on VAS program at national level to
strengthen government commitment on theVAS program; Support MoH to improve
implementation of the VAS supply chainmanagement and better monitor the QA VACs
and to support MoH to review theimplementation of electronic recording and
reporting integrated nutritionsystem (E- PPGBM) to identify any gapswith the
intention of then supporting MoH to improve the quality of data usedto manage
the VAS program.
NI is looking for Agency/ Consultant/s to conduct“A DataQuality Audit of the
Vitamin A Supplementation and assessment of the functionality of theMonitoring
and Evaluation system in Indonesia”.
Thedata quality audit is proposed to be done prior to (census), during
andfollowing up to two-three months ofthe February 2020 vitamin A
supplementation 1st round,once the data is rolled up to the national level from
the Posyandu. On anaverage, the Posyandu reports to Puskesmas one month after
distribution atposyandu and sweeping or by March/April for the 1st round
andSeptember or October for the 2nd round in August). It might takesome time
for the data to be rolled up from the Puskesmas to the district andto the
Province to be finally compiled at the national level. Therefore, thisactivity
is proposed to be conducted from January to September 2020.
