We use the Moss Rehab Slip Trainer in our rehab unit and I can vouch for it.
It works well with harness systems (we have the narrower one that fits inside a
LiteGait) and works as intended. It takes up little space and is easy to store
(we keep ours propped against a wall in our supply closet). The only issue I
have with it is, unlike the treadmill systems available, you can’t really use
it while gait training, so you are basically confined to standing
perturbations. But we use it quite a bit.

I’ve looked at the Mass rehab equipment and it’s the real deal IMO :). I’m
considering opening a clinic and it’s on my wish list. Especially the slip
trainer. I think Meditouch has developed a TM reactive balance trainer. IMO,
you can do a lot of reactive balance training with a regular TM and harness but
if you want something higher level and with some measurement the Meditouch
product seems good too.

Hi Katlyn,
This is exactly one of the things I had in mind, thank you! If we end up
getting it, I'll report back.

Hi!
I just came across this last week
https://www.massrehabinc.com/ecommerce/slip-trainer.html
I wonder if this would work since it says it is to be used with a harness
system! Let me know if you get it and your clinic likes it

Subject: [neuropt] Reactive balance training equipment
External Email: CAUTION
Hi everyone,
The OP clinic where I treat has been approached by a donor who wants to
purchase assistive technology for our rehab team to use with our patients.
We've been discussing
possible options related to reactive balance training. I'm envisioning a
slip/trip simulator or multi-directional treadmill, but most of the options
I've found online take up more space than we have available. If we could find
something with a smaller footprint,
we do have an in-ceiling harness system which would allow us to place the
equipment in an area where we could use the harness to keep patients safe.
I have an image in my head of a small-ish platform (maybe 4 ft x 4 ft?) I've
seen used in research studies that can produce reactive stepping in multiple
directions,
but I can't seem to find it online. Does anyone have any suggestions for
specific products?
Thank you for your help!
Teresa
