Melissa & Everyone, It's possible to automatically log inbound SMS to text or DB. In India, we use a leased SMS gateway in the "cloud". Through our telecoms provider, we have rented a phone number that is connected to one of their servers somewhere. Any SMS that gets sent to that number is automatically converted by that computer into an email which is sent to helpdesk@xxxxxxxxxxx. We then have a script that monitors the email inbox and writes any message with topic line of SMSezv Notifier to a database. Enclosed is a sample mail. This way we have a log of all the SMS we receive from NOKIA teachers. The only "magic" step was to get our phone company to rent us an SMS gateway. These are pretty standard - a lot of telemarketing companies use these for Spam text messaging of ads. : ) |
