Good work, Kyle! And way to hang in there, insisting that your moth was not
one of our normal species. Glad that you received the answer you were
seeking.

Well I was close! Someone on bugguide who knows someone familiar with
micros in this genus said that it is Cameraria fletcherella, 0820. This
is an even better find than what I thought it was, as C. fletcherella has only
been recorded, it appears, from Michigan and Illinois.
Cool!

Cameraria arcuella, 0807

Hey everyone,

Last week I photographed this micro moth, which I feel confident is Cameraria
arcuella, 0807. It has been recorded in Virginia, but I don't
think it has been found in NC before. Has anyone else seen this before?

Kyle
