Here are your North Central District Updates for January 17th, 2021:
*Looking Ahead to the Magic Date:*
For those of you unfamiliar, the Magic Date is the date 45 days out from
NCD Convention on which numerous deadlines are held. While many deadlines
apply to just a few, there are deadlines for ALL chapters. Below are the
items that must be submitted by February 23rd, 2021:

J. Lee Burke Outstanding Service to the District (Active Brother)
Charles W. Haas Memorial Award (Alumni)
Governors' Cup Applications (Chapter)
Special Monies Assistance Program (Chapter)
Outstanding Special Projects Award (Chapter)
*For Individual Brothers: *
District Officer Candidacy Packets
Committee Member/Chair Applications
More details will be released in the coming weeks regarding convention and
the submissions listed above.
*Committee Opportunities: *
Every year, chapter delegates serve on a variety of district committees at
NCD Convention. This year, we are expanding the number of committees, and
therefore, the number of open spots for Brothers. While delegates will
still have a spot on a committee, we are seeking applications for
non-delegates to serve on committees *leading up to convention*. There are
7 committees this year, each with a short description below:
*Applications due January 23rd: *
*Joint Hymn Ad Hoc Committee:* Create a Joint NCD Hymn along with the
Sisters of Tau Beta Sigma.
*Applications due February 23rd:*
*Nominations:* Interview District Officer candidates and prepare a slate to
the delegation at convention.
*Jurisdiction & Finance:* Propose changes to the NCD Constitution as well
as a budget for the following year to the delegation at convention.
*Awards:* Determine winners for several NCD Awards.
*Communications:* Evaluate NCD communication and propose changes to the
next council.
*District Resources:* Evaluate resources available for chapters and chapter
leadership and propose new resources to be created by the next council.
*Programs:* Evaluate NCD programming and propose changes to the next
council.
*Note: You DO NOT have to be a chapter delegate or be on chapter exec to
serve on or chair a district committee.*
*New NCD Communications Chair – Jenna Chapa:*
We are proud to announce that Jenna Chapa from the Mu Kappa Chapter at
Grand Valley State University will be joining the NCD Council as our newly
appointed Communications Chair! Jenna will operate the district's social
media and website, as well as chair our Communications Committee leading up
to convention.
