Here are your North Central District Updates for January 4th, 2021:
*2021 Awards Packet:*
The NCD Awards Packet

is now available on the NCD Website in the Public Documents folder. Please
note a few changes:
Due to all events being virtual, the District Council has elected not to
award the Chapter Distance Award, Golden Gas Can, or Reading Band Student
Conductor. Note that these awards still appear in the packet as a
preservation of the tradition and to assist the next District Council in
creating the Awards Packet next year.
In addition, the Chapter Participation Award is awarded to the chapter with
the most participation in our main District Events, even though they have
all been virtual this year. This differs from the WiPsi Award, which is
calculated based on participation in additional webchats. Events that count
towards the Chapter Participation Award are Summer FUNction, MER, DLC,
Block meetings, NCD Convention. Events that count towards the WiPsi Award
include Virtual workshops (such as the one on running for District Office
that occurred last week), Virtual Hangouts (such as the Trivia Night We
held in October), and *Virtual Degrees.* Virtual Degrees are a new addition
to this award and attendance will be tracked at these by the NCD Council.

*Joint Hymn Project and Committee Applications:*
The Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma NCD Councils are joining together to
create a joint hymn for the North Central District with the anticipated
completion of the project to be during this year's district convention.
With this project, the councils have decided to create an ad hoc committee
known as the Joint Hymn Ad Hoc Committee (JHAHC), comprised of active
members from both organizations. For more information on this project and
the work of this committee, please look into the application

for this application is January 23rd, 2021. Any questions regarding this

*Virtual Hymn Performance:*
An exciting collaborative music-making opportunity is being made available
to you! All actives, alumni, and membership candidates are invited to
participate in a virtual hymn performance, the premiere of which will
happen no later than district convention. For more information on this
project, here

is a folder dedicated to all of the specifics of the project. Your
individual participation should require no more than 10 minutes of your
time. The deadline for audio and video submissions is February 7th, 2021.
