Our generator is far enough away from the house that fumes are not an issue. My
husband built a small shed for it, the front opens and it vents at the top to.

I was thinking maybe under our dog kennel? It’s only 10x5 but is covered from
rain? But maybe the rain can come in to the sides? Not sure. We have propane
heaters to keep us warm at least and battery lights, but think we neee more if
long term like during storms and fire,
I kinda wish we had invested in a solar one….

I think there was a spate of people poisoning themselves with generator fumes
as they weren't used to using them so thought I'd best mention it! They are
amazing but need to be somewhere safe. That's assuming they all run in the same
way lol, fuel in, electricity out. Think they have a little exhaust like a car
where the fumes come out. But those fumes can build up in a place not
ventilated.
We have a covered area for a car where it gets lots of fresh air and near
electricity. Sheltered but breezy is ideal.
Do you have a shed or anything? Even if you need to move some less important
things out of it and keep a window open.
I only have basic knowledge on this. That may change if we need to use ours!

Oh geez, thanks for telling me that. I had no idea. We haven’t even used ours
yet and we have no idea where we can put it as we don’t have any awning, any
ideas?

Don't forget generators need fresh air to vent carbon monoxide I think it is.
We were told they need testing, running every 6 weeks to make sure they're ok.
Might be worth giving it a whirl 😊
Hope you don't need it,
