Oh geez, thanks for telling me that. I had no idea. We haven’t even used
ours yet and we have no idea where we can put it as we don’t have any
awning, any ideas?

Don't forget generators need fresh air to vent carbon monoxide I think it
is. We were told they need testing, running every 6 weeks to make sure

It's been a BUSY morning already and today is going to be very hectic,
especially for Bruce. We have stuff to do outside to get ready for this
wind storm, and he is going to make a run to the pharmacy and grocery store
to pick up our prescriptions and a few simple things to make meals out of.
The generator is all gassed up and ready to use if need be. I prepared 3
days worth of food for all the animals. Bruce cooked up a large batch of
eggs for everyone as well, laundry is almost caught up and we'll make sure
to run the dishwasher tonight. We have plenty of battery-operated lights,
and we're making sure our cell phones and kindles are fully charged. I feel
it's better to be over-prepared then under-prepared in case we lose
power....maybe that's my OCD'ness creeping out but so be it. Now, if all
these enormous trees that are literally all around us stay upright, we'd
surely appreciate it. They are my biggest fear when we get a lot of rain
and high winds.
Feeling incredibly blessed that we were able to buy that new generator
with the stimulus money, it's giving us both enormous peace of mind. We can
run space heaters, turtle lights, cook, watch TV and keep our food cold.
And if the networks are out, we have a million CD's we can pop in to watch.
What we won't have however is hot water so going to make sure I wash my
hair today and shower again in the morning....I am a 1-2 shower a day kind
of girl...so no hot water is rather disconcerting to me, LOL....
The news said to expect power outages all over this region so we may not
be able to be online at some point.... This storm is not supposed to really
kick in until sometime tomorrow, and they said it will hover for about 2
days.
