The image of the pipettes you asked about looks narrower than the ones I
use.....but it could just be the way they took the picture. So those are $5.49
for 12, which makes them appx 55 cents each.....you do realize they are
disposable, right? You use them once and toss them out. I might make one
stretch for an entire day, but not any longer than that. Do you have Prime
service with Amazon, because if not, you will also pay for postage. If that's
the case, I would say so not worth it.
500 is a lot.....that's how I get mine as I go thru SO many with all the
animals we have and take in, but perhaps that is more than you'd need.
Definitely the best buy however. Look on Ebay, I used to get 100 of them for
about $10.00 with free shipping. That might suit you better. Even with just
one animal, you will fly thru 12 in no time. Just be cognizant of the size
before you hit the "buy" button. You don't want anything smaller than 7 ml.
I used to struggle using syringes to feed babies and just hated it. When I
discovered these, I have never looked back. I fed my bunnies a fairly thick
pureed mash of Critical care with these, and I feed my special needs turtle
with them....his food is about the consistency between gravy and oatmeal. Not
super thick but not at all runny either. And you can cut the ends to make the
opening wider to suit your needs, as they are only made of a thin plastic.
When you make your bunnies food, if you find it will not suck up easily, all
you have to do is add just a tiny bit more water to make it work.
Another consideration; syringes are a pain to clean, they often stick and all
it takes is a little extra shove on the plunger and the animal ends up with an
explosion of food all over their face. These pipettes are a feed once and toss,
and will not stick.
For those of us who are environmentally conscious, I realize these are not the
most eco-friendly method, so I guess it's a trade-off. When I've got a ton of
babies all needing to be fed, these are what works.
If you decide to stick with syringes, use those that are designed for feeding
with. I find that the o-ring models work best if you want to stick with that.

I just bought the recovery kit. I’ve used the appetite restore before and found
it helpful when bunnies had GI upset. It works somewhat with Frodo now. But the
recovery food doesn’t go into a syringe, ot gets stuck and won’t come out so I
had to throw away the packet I mixed with water. And then I had to go back to
critical care. Also I think critical care has more calories. I also have a
vitamin b complex liquid that I give him. He loves it.
So do you use a food processor to chop up the powdered food and greens and
such? I might try that. He’s always been picky on a good day, I have the 2
pickiest bunnies that ever hopped the earth. Now he’s super duper picky and low
appetite. However He would eat his weight in treats if I let him.
I was thinking about getting the immune support tabs. I already have the
Prevention tabs but he doesn’t like those. He likes the digestive tabs.

try their recovery kit first which you can buy on Amazon to see if they like

Hopefully he’ll eat a lot today. He needs to get his weight and strength up.
Last night I used a scarf to hold him up just enough to provide balance, and he

Guess who’s cute as a button and has all pink skin now! Mr Frodo! Yes there is
some medium and dark pink spots but there aren’t any red or open sores. I put
SDD on the dark pink spots that were sores yesterday and A&d on the rest. Then
put a diaper on a tiny bit side ways to cover that upper leg and keep it from
rubbing off until it’s absorbed in good. I hope it doesn’t get into the nearby
fur too badly and cause Matts?
I’ll be using only A&D (or butt paste ) starting tomorrow to keep him healing
and dry. I just have to make sure I use warm wet cotton balls to clean his skin
and dry with toilet paper before putting on the a&d or butt paste? I don’t want
to seal in any germs or infection which is why I’ve been using SDD until sores
are gone. Vet wants me to switch to cornstarch on the skin but i had been doing
that this past month and it didn’t prevent this scalding. and if his skin
starts to get irritated again from urine or laying in the same spot all the
time, I have to shampoo the cornstarch off before I can put ointment on.
Thanks everyone. Frodo still has all his other problems, but he should be much
more comfortable now.

and keep it dry or else. I emailed the holistic vet and she said in between the
SDD applications I could use the wound balm i alread ly have — which has
beeswax, olive oil, yarrow, burdock root, echinacea root ( because it’s
anti-microbial, an immune system stimulant, and anti-inflammatory). But I think
the A&D would be better because it’s harder to wipe off.
Here is this mornings photo with and without flash. The blanket is white and my
hands aren’t red, they are more like the color in the flash photo, so I think
the flash photo is more accurate. I don’t remember him being red when Jim was
taking the photo! Medium to dark pink with a few red spots.
Anyway he has some broken skin to the right near his tail and we need to
shave/clip that area and the perimeter of the bald area because it’s trying to
Matt in a few places and probably holds dampness. I charged up my ladies
shaver/groomer and have 2 heads I can try that have guards. If that doesn’t
work I need a men’s barber clipper. I wish I could have had the vets staff do
it. I go again this week for his checkup so they can pretty it up for me
During the night he had a weird scanning move he was doing, even in his sleep i
think. He would be still and then twitch his head and scan (move head to the
right) a little and then go back. After several seconds it would repeat. I put
him on my lap and massaged him and it seemed to go away. He loved the massage
anyway. I don’t think he’s doing it this morning. He did escape his diaper in
the middle of night but wasn’t wet and didn’t slide around In poop. I got
another diaper on and that stayed on til morning. So success!
You all are good sports to keep reading my lengthy posts and looking at the
unpleasant photos. I can’t go in with Frodo for his appointments, the vet calls
us and tells us what she thought of his exam, and she is so busy she doesn’t
have much time to talk. So I feel like I’m on my own to figure out the finer
details

because his skin hurts. He’d eat the whole store’s worth of parsley if I let

Speaking of … you guys know off hand low gas low calcium greens? I need to
watch him because he got a bladder stone last year. And he’s prone to gas.
Although the vets day bladder sludge/stones is more about hydration and
exercise than diet. So I have to jiggle his bladder every day to stir anything
in there up so they come out. I’m now feeding him dandelion greens and
cilantro and parsley. I actually had to stop giving him greens a couple years
ago except as a treat because the more I gave him the more often he’d get GI
stasis. When I stopped the greens he stopped getting stasis every week. And
Balin usually refuses greens anyway. I have weird bunnies for sure. But since
Frodos appetite is so low now and he won’t drink, I’m giving him wet greens
several times a day and sub q fluids daily. He’s on gut motility drugs anyway
so what the heck. Vet said up to 2 cups of greens a day. Some days we go over
that just to get him to eat something. He can’t believe his good fortune as far
as the greens go. As you can tell from the video.

It’s better overall, you can’t see but I see a couple small (like smaller than

not). Also there is redness in the fur line along the perimeter of the bald

clean it and more ointment later. Maybe my brand new little eyebrow battery
