Wireless is working again — after a fashion. Sunday evening, after spending hours on Saturday trying to get Time Capsule working, I uplugged it, substituted an Airport Express station as my wireless base station, and reset everything. Hours went by. Nothing. I unplugged the Airport station too, and connected the Rogers modem directly to the laptop with an Ethernet cable. About 8 p.m., still getting no response, I abandoned it overnight, convinced the modem itself was at fault and thinking I'd have to go get a replacement this morning from Rogers. Some time overnight, however, some sort of connection was finally established. We were back on the Internet. The activity lights on modem and Time Capsule were still flashing orange rather than green, signifying we didn't have a proper connection but at least it was a connection of sorts. i plugged the Ethernet cable back into the Time Capsule and waited to see if that hookup too would eventually begin to work, given enough time. After about four hours, up it came. Again the activity lights on modem and Time Capsule were slowly flashing orange rather than showing steady green, but as before we were able to access the Internet, on both the laptop and Marion's iPad. Something somewhere in the linkage is breaking if not broken, but we still have to figure out what that something is.
