BTW what do you mean with the "Internet" control panel? What do you use it 
for (changing e-mail profiles?)... actually, what *do* you use it for? Could 
someone explain (I've never found a use for profiles in the Internet control 
panel)

In the "Configuration Manager" or "TCP/IP" control panel if you delete a 
selected profile it will be removed from the list in the Control Strip when 
you restart the Control Strip or restart the computer.
