Yup, Parker.....when I worked help desk people were always calling saying
they couldn't type something somewhere and about 6 times out of 10, it was
becuz they had the font color set the same as the background color, so
that's one of the first things we always checked.  Sometimes the obvious is
the thing we miss.  

As was the case with this one. I KNOW that the background of the Outlook
folders is determined by Windows, so I should have known this one...but,
sometimes I make things harder than they have to be....and I know I'm not
alone on that one LOL

When I was working and as independent consultant, I received a call from a
good customer (in other words, she was really dangerous on her PC) who said
that her keyboard would not work in Word. When I got to her office, I opened
Word and typed some gibberish and, sure enough, the screen remained blank.
After determining that the keyboard did work in other programs, I discovered
that she had  set the normal.dot template to a font color of white! Of
course, white letters on a white background are very hard to see!
