User-entered dates are probably not a good thing to put in the heading of 
the report ... unless they have some bearing on what is actually in the 
report.

In fact, they can be misleading.  If the report contains all the data that's 
in the database, but your heading identifies (say) a three month arbitrary 
period, then the reader will of course think that this date range is what 
the data applies to - but it doesn't.

If you want to put the report generation date in the header, then simply get 
Access to put today's date in.

If you want to enter dates, do so by all means, but make sure that the 
database query uses those dates to select only the relevant information.
