Hi Peter, I know of a person to whom the same thing just happened - he had recently upgraded from Office 97 to 2003. I assumed it had to do with the upgrade. A few things we tried - one of which worked, though I don't recall now which: 1. Make sure that "drawings" hasn't been deselected in Tools|Options, View Tab, (under the Print and Web Layout Options). 2. Go to Tools|Options, View Tab, and make sure Picture Placeholders is NOT selected.
