Well Maybe I didn't ask? <g> The master list is now using 30 parts or chapters or what ever. When I make a content page the first Line Chapter One or? Is always Bold I have replaced it and remade it several times it's just bold ! Now if I make the complete chapter Text Bold it is right . Make sense? Sure don't here, All the chapters are using Header1 Font or style. Times Roman 11 The text in Normal Times Roman 11. Nothing is set BOLD Now I think this is connected also. When it makes the index. Some of the chapters will make a separate index, In other words Computer will show on page 250- 300 and just below it Computer will show on page 1-249 302-100 skipping the section 250-300 One set will be BOLD and the other not Bold I have tried using different templates on this I use most of the time Fancy. Now If I go into the chapters that are not doing the right thing and turn them BOLD it will index right?? When I say BOLD I mean everything Bold. All pages. Now of course the content page follows and these lines are bold also. Now if I go to these chapters and make the Content back not bold that straightens out. But I can not just leave the parts Bold that will give me fits.!!! This make more sense? Gene Ok, Gene....I'm not real sure exactly what you are asking....(kinda hard when you are rummy...LOL)...but, here's three things that might get you pointed in the right direction.. If I'm understanding you correctly, if you want to find bold text and replace it with regular text, I explain how to do that here: http://www.personal-computer-tutor.com/findreplace.htm And I don't know why text would come into your document in bold in an "index"...are you sure you're not talking about a Table of Contents? If so, TOC's are built on Styles....so if some text is based on the Heading 2, style and that style is set to come into your TOC as bold, that's what will happen. Look at the style on the text that is not coming in bold and apply that style to the text that is coming in bold....or modify that style and remove the Bold from it. If your page numbers are restarting at 1 every so often, this means you must have Section Breaks. Go into the Header/Footer view of a page that is starting at 1 and look at the page number properties (accessible from the Header/Footer toolbar) and make sure it's set to "continue from previous section" If this is NOT what you are asking, try again when you've sobered up LOL Linda ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
