[mso] Word 2000 Menu Bar

A colleague of mine has just managed to COMPLETELY "lose" the Menu Bar.
I can't find anything about hiding it in Help (on another machine of
course!), he has not taken the "Full Screen" option because he can still see
the Title Bar, we have tried "cruising" around all over the window for left
and right-click selection areas that bring it back, without success.
I have tried to do the same thing on another machine and it is possible to
drag-and-drop the Menu Bar off a non-maximised window, drop it on to the
desktop, resize it into a vertical list and then effectively hide it behind
the Start Menu Bar, but restarting Word or even just moving the Start Menu
Bar reveals it again - in his case, nothing.
Restarting the Word, even re-booting the machine makes no difference - still
nothing there!
Anybody got any ideas?
