'Wild Leaps of Imagination' -

Glenda,

I would be willing to bet this is exactly why they keep you around. The
fact that you have to struggle through learning new things can also be
viewed as an asset. You aren't limited by what you 'know'. You can look at
the problem and say, 'I wonder how I can make it do that'. Many people
without drive or imagination sit there and do what they know and don't grow,
don't push the boundaries and never even make the suggestion based on the
idea that this application would be even better if it could....

James

I failed chemistry, even with a near chemistry genius as a tutor! The
logic of VBA, styles, programming and so forth sometimes isn't logical
to those of us without a background for it. I have no idea why my
company keeps me at the job I have. It's so technical and every step
forward is a HUGE struggle for me. Maybe it's my calm exterior (paddling
madly below the surface while appearing calm and composed) My background
is as a journalist where wild leaps of imagination rather than facts and
logic are the guiding force. Having to think my way through everything
is EXHAUSTING as well as DAUNTING. I feel as if I'm crawling when I need
to be running.

Greg (and all the rest of you techno geniuses on this list) please don't
give up on us. We try...sometimes we learn.

:} /g

To me it's like learning a foreign language . . . I failed Spanish twice
in college. =20

Call me an idealist (or lazy as the case may be), but I just want the
darn thing to do what I want it to . . . without figuring out how to get
it to do that.=20
