[mso] Vertical Alignment of Time Values

To All,

How to vertically align a table containing time values in Word2003?

I produce a spreadsheet in Excel 2003 that has time values (durations) in one
of the columns. I use a colon to separate hours from minutes. Maximum
durations could range over one hundred hours and minimum could be as few as
fifteen minutes. I enter zero before the colon for durations less than 60
minutes.

I use five columns and a variable number of rows in the spreadsheet. The
contents of each cell are centered horizontally. When it is complete, I copy
just the required rows and five columns, then I paste that as a table into my
Word document.

Everything works fine except the colons in a column of time values are not
vertically aligned. That's acceptable in the spreadsheet, but I would prefer
alignment in the Word document.

Why don't I right-justify the time values? If I do, they will not look right
under the centered column heading. Is there a tab stop I can set which
controls the placement of the colon in a way that is similar to the tab stop
for decimal point?

Related question: What are the tab stop symbols which look like a tiny square
or a triangle with apex pointing downward? What are they called, and how are
they used?

Thanks for the help.

Ray Shapp
