Thanks Ray and Linda. What I am remembering sounds like what Ray described.
I have to enter name, city, and state, into an Excel sheet, in all upper
case, and when I stop to toggle back and forth with other apps it causes me
to need to retype stuff because I forgot to change the case. I'm thinking
that the =UPPER is going to be the solution so that I don't have to toggle
back and forth manually.

Thanks again both of you.

Pam

In Excel, you have to use formulas to do this, Pam

Let's say the text you want to create is in cell A1

=UPPER(A1) ... would put it all in caps
=LOWER(A1) ... would lower case it all
=PROPER(A1) ... would cap the first letter of each word

No keystroke for this in Excel...remember Word is for words, Excel is mostly
for numbers, so it has less features for text editing.

I remember reading somewhere about keystrokes that could capitalize all
letters, or make lower case out of all letters, or capitalize first letters
only. I thought I saved it but I can't find it. Where I want to use this
feature now is in Excel, but I was thinking that this keystroke thing was
for Word or Excel. Does this sound familiar to anyone, and is there such an
ability?
